iPhone 11Pro mutes itself nearly every time I answer a call?

Why is this happening? It happens nearly every time I answer a call or when I am placing a call and someone answers on the other line or voice mail picks up- the phone automatically mutes me? It happens in every situation, on speaker, airpods, CarPlay, etc.


Seems to be an issue in other threads with answers pointing to the DND and that is not the issue.

running 13.5


seems to have started with 13.3 update I believe.


Please advise ...

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're automatically muted when a call connects with your iPhone. Additionally, you mentioned this behavior occurs while using Bluetooth accessories, and while connected to CarPlay.
