if I use my 18W fast charge USB type-C to Lighting, adapter and cable, to charge my iPad air 2(MH182LL/A, 9.7inch), will it damage the battery or even broke it?

I'm buying the cable and adapter for my iPhone but just wondering if I can use it on my old iPad(it doesn't support fast charge and the official spec of the 18W adapter doesn't say it support iPad Air 2)

iPad Air 2, iOS 10

Hi Ravenlot,

Thanks for your post! I see you want to know if you can use your 18W with you iPad Air. While you know your iPad is not fast-charge capable, you can still use the charging accessory to charge your iPad. The iOS on your iPad can manage the power so not to damage the battery when using higher wattage chargers. The amperage of the charger (18W) is the maximum the charger can put out, but the device ultimately manages the load.
