USB to Ethernet Adapter

I am trying to get a USB to Ethernet adapter working.

MacBook Pro 15' 2013

OS10.14.6

Adapter is from Anker - Their website sats that it is compatible.

I have tried installing the driver from Anker. It was blocked by security preferences. I allowed. No

I have tried installing the AX88772 driver from the ASIX website. No Joy

I have rebooted at each stage.

In System Information I see no AX88772 and no sign of adapter.

In System Preferences / Network I am not seeing USB or Ethernet.

I previously borrows a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter and that worked fine.

Any Ideas
