Connecting Apple TV Hardware to a Bose 135 Entertainment System

I own a "slightly" older Lifestyle 135 Home Entertainment System that connects to my Panasonic TC-L42D30 TV. Works great with PVR connection from cable TV and other sources. Nice sound.

Question - Will Apple TV Hardware also connect to this Bose system via the HDMI port and be recognized as another input device to show output on my TV?

Thank you for your suggestion. It sounds promising. I have three HDMI input ports, two are used by a cable PVR and Blue-ray player and the third one is empty. Sound from the first two devices goes directly to the Bose speakers and the optical is sent to the TV via the Bose outgoing HDMI port.

I am thinking the third empty HDMI input port could be used to bring in both audio and optical from the Apple TV device, then audio and optical could be routed to the same two locations by the same method. Fingers crossed!
