Can i use mac os catalina to restore an ipod video 5th generation

i have an ipod video 5th generation (the black one) and i was wondering if i am able to restore it with mac os catalina since itunes has been removed and i have to use finder. i fear that my mac won't be able to restore this ipod and i will basically have a brick. asking for a friend.

Finder should be able read the device fine, it’s compatible with older tech.
