Apple TV Problems

Hello,

I have an Apple TV device without the remote. I can't use my remote app on my phone because it asks to input a code through the apple TV device - this cannot happen since the remote is missing. I'm trying to see if I can just reset the device but according to reviews online, you can only do that if you have a mac computer. Please advise how I can reset my device and connect my remote app without an apple remote or macbook.
