iPhone shutdown automatically as soon as I step outside and it’s not cold outside

So when I go outside in the sun my iPhone 8 Plus just automatically shutdown but then when I walk back in the house it just turns back on like it don’t take a minute to power back on like if you do a normal reset. The phone just automatically turns off as soon as I step outside in the sun and it’s not like I’ve been out there for a minute and it doesn’t give me an overheating warning so could it be? Is it something wrong with the battery? Is it something wrong with the new update? I’m really mad that my phone does this and I did a reset so many times it’s unbelievable. Can someone help me fix this?

Hello jalin147,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that when you go outside your iPhone shutdown and when you come back inside it just turns back on. What you are describing sounds like the screen brightness of your display may be affected by the sunlight. If your model of iPhone supports True Tone, you may want to try turning the feature off and seeing if that resolves the issue.

Adjust the screen brightness and color on iPhone - Apple Support

"Turn True Tone on or off

On supported models, turn on True Tone to automatically adapt the color and intensity of the display to match the light in your environment.

Do any of the following:

  • Open Control Center, touch and hold , then tap  to turn True Tone on or off.
  • Go to Settings  > Display & Brightness, then turn True Tone on or off."

Best Regards.
