I can't get into my Apple ID, as it asks for a Recovery Key, which I do not know or have. It is not listed in the Security section of the Apple ID webpage either. It has basically rendered my iPad worthless, so please advise.

Recovery Key is part of the old two-step verification method.

Very likely, you have since moved on to the more recent, more robust two-factor authentication.

It doesn't allow me to use two-factor authentication. The Recovery Key screen pops up after I enter my password.
