How do I empty my photo trash can on my phone? Trying to free up space

To empty the Photos Trash go to the Recently Deleted Album. Tap Albums, then go to the bottom of the Albums page and tap "Recently Deleted". Tap "Select", tap "Delete All".
If this does not work, you may have too many items in Recently Deleted. It may not be possible to empty Recently Deleted, if it is too full. Then try to delete only small batches of photos from Recently Deleted.
Do not let the Recently Deleted Album get too full. Try to keep less than 1000 items in it, better less.
Recehently Deleted is not of much use, if you have so many items in it, that you cannot easily find a phot to recover, or check, if you accidentally deleted a photo that you want to keep.
