This iPad model does not support group FaceTime.
iOS 12 does NOT support group FaceTime.

This is because iOS 12 does not support Group FaceTime chat. It is going to need to be updated to a iPad OS 13 if it is capable, and if it isn’t, then it is going to need to be replaced with a model that can if you want to be able to do that.
