IMac camera works on Skype but ...

This is for a friend of mine so please bear with me ...

I have a Late 2015 IMac 27" and my built in camera works fine on Skype and FB live video.

My friend has a Late 2015 IMac 21". His cam works on Skype but it is not recognized on FB.

He also tried an external cam by USB but it wasn't recognized either.

Any suggestions for him?

Lumix webcam app not recognized by 2020 iMac I have a Lumix G9. Downloaded the webcam software after implementing the Lumix 2.5 firmware update. Running Monterey 12.0.1. Software installs and then I get a little window showing picture of Lumix>>PC and then it stalls. Previously before calling Apple support I got a bigger window on the iMac where I could click on "live" in the top right hand corner of the window and see myself inside the window via the G9. That's is far as I got. The apple support guy said the iMac should recognize the camera automatically and if not then there's no work around. Hence, I'm here.

Camera not detected in Skype and Zoom, but works fine with other Apps First things first: I am not frustrated, I am really pissed! Pardon my french. What happend to Macs that just simply worked? Sorry, now for the facts: I am using a Mac Mini (2018). As I had to setup two more worksstations for my kids due to the corona crisis I needed another webcam for my Mac Mini. There are lots of "real" Cameras (DSLR, Mirrorless...) within my household I tried to hook one up via USB. For sure no success. As there is actually no way get a webcam I bought an hdmi video capture device (BlackMagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder). I won't get into details about getting it to work with Mac OS - it's a pain in the... Just this: Till now I have spend more than 200,- $ only on cables... Finally I got the setup to work - almost. The camera is detected by the BlackMagic software, I can record video, it works with google duo, with microsoft teams, with quicktime, but not with Skype, FaceTime nor Zoom. Within Zoom, Skype and FaceTime the camera is not recognised ("No camera connected"). Does every Software on Mac OS have its own camera drivers? How can I make it work with those Apps? Thanks, Sven

Cheap action cam works as Webcam on Toshiba laptop but not on Macs? My iMac webcam is very poor so I decided to use a cheap Chinese 4K action cam as a webcam. I tried connecting it to both my iMac and Mac mini via its USB cable and selecting "PC Camera". No way could I get it to work. After several hours, in desperation, I thought I would give it a go on my old Toshiba laptop. Incredibly the laptop recognised it immediately. So what am I doing wrong or is it just that it is incompatible with Macs?

Yea ask Facebook or look at their support site.
