iTunes payment issue “update” message continues

iTunes just repeats “update” card. Card (AmEx) is in my Apple Wallet on the same device. I entered the correct information iTunes six times so any typo is gone. I contacted AmEx and they don’t see any test charge attempts. (Normal test method for credit card.) Yet, iTuenes “update” card message continues.

I understand you are unable to update your payment method for the iTunes Store.


I realize you have already tried to do so several times, however ensure you are following the steps here: Change, add, or remove Apple ID payment methods.


As stated in the linked article, also ensure your device is up to date. You can learn how to do so here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and How to update the software on your Mac.


If the issue persists, I recommend you Contact Apple Support.
