why do only iCloud files appear in finder on my new MacBook?

Have you gone to Finder/Preferences/Sidebar and selected the Home folder, Documents folder, Applications folder, and other desired options? Can you then see additional files?

iCloud Drive Files question All my files in iCloud Drive . I can see it with my Finder's Mac as a Cloud symbol appear. In case of creating a new Folder / File , It seems that it's also in iCloud BUT at the Pop Up Menu I see REMOVE DOWNLOAD option. Does it mean that it's also in my Mac ? As I want all files to be in iCloud only and not in my Mac.

Why did all my files go to icloud? When i transferred my files to macbook pro from laptop, they immediately went to icloud and now my icloud is almost full. I'd rather have them on my macbook.
