My iPhone 8 plus home button is stuck

My iphone 8 plus fell into a bowl of water and I took it out within a second and dried it. This is the second day and my phone's home button is stuck. The finger print is working but I can't use other functions of the home button. What do I do please? Thanks

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 13

Hi there!

First off sorry that happened that sucks. But there's a temporary fix that I can give you until you can take it to the apple store to get it fixed.

  1. Open the “Settings” app in iOS
  2. Go to “General”
  3. From General Setttings choose “Accessibility”
  4. Tap on “AssistiveTouch”
  5. Toggle the “Assistive Touch” switch to the ON position
  6. Next choose “Single-Tap”
  7. From the Single-Tap options select “Home” as the single tap action item for Assistive Touch
  8. Drag to position the Assistive Touch virtual button, by default it’s in the upper right corner of the screen, to mimic an onscreen Home button drag it to the bottom middle of the screen, or the position of your choice
  9. Now you can tap the onscreen virtual Home button to mimic a real Home button, it will perform the same actions as you’d expect, like returning to the iOS Home Screen from any app.

If you need any further help Im here.

Thanks Jake B.
