I have a Iphone 6plus and my wife has an iphone 6.
I upgraded my Macbook Pro to Catalina and both of our Iphone 6 to latest IOS 12.4.7
Before Catalina I used to back up our phones on my Mac but now I can't.
They don't appear on locations in finder. when I Check Usb drives under system information page.
I can not see them either.
Did anyone else has similar problems with Catalina?

If using a third party cable, or an underpowered USB port, you may have issues connecting your phone to the computer.

Thanks my Macbook have USB-C jacks so I have to use adaptors to use with my phone's original cable. I taught that might be it and by a USB-C to lightning cablei yet it did not work either. Actually I can charge the phones from my macbook but can not backup
I might also add, check your phone that it isn't asking permission to be allowed on the computer. Sometimes some Apps may notice it is a new computer and the authentication needs to be verified.
I suspect that might be a conflict issue between IOS 12.4.7 and Catalina.
I did reset my phones trusted computers but unfortunately no progress

Some USB-C Lightning cables may only be meant link Macs to the Magic keyboard.
You might need to get one that is specifically designated for charging the iPhone.
