I have the exact same issue here on a MacBook 13" 2018. - ref MacBookPro15,2
with Mojave 10.14.6
I did the 003-2020 supplemental update on June 1st and since then my battery went mad :
- Battery draining when charger plugged in
- Battery draining when sleeping with charger plugged in (Power NAP if off, Find my mac is off)
- Battery draining when Mac is Off (!!)
- Huge battery draining when working form the battery (3,5h battery life versus 5h to 6,5h previously) this almost half less.
the worst :
- Battery design capacity went from 92% on May 28 to 80% on June 20 : this is really not COOL as I take very good care of my batteries cycles.
I ended up reinstalling Mojave today from the macOS Recovery tool, via the recommended option to begin with : "Reinstall the latest macOS that was installed on your Mac" to see if it fixes the problem. So it installed 10.14.6 again. Good news is, it seems it has gotten rid of the 003-2020 supplemental update, as it's been proposed again to me after this.
Bad news is : design capacity is still severely damaged at 81% and probably permanently.
I would love to hear from other people about this, and ideally from Apple. What happened with that supplemental update?
below my last ten days design capacity history. My battery is literally dying.
