Reading iBooks on non-Apple devices

Someone bought me a book via iTunes. I downloaded iTunes on my laptop, and redeemed the code. It said the download would begin, but nothing happened. How can I read this book if I don't have any Apple devices? My laptop is an Asus, my phone is a Samsung and my e-reader is a Kindle. Is there any way I can read it somehow? Or is there a way the person who bought it can get a refund since I have not been able to download the book?

Windows, Windows 10

Purchased books from Apple's Book Store can only be read on Apple devices. To read books on a pc or android or kindle, they have to be bought elsewhere, like amazon.
