Hi so I am using my dads old and I reset it and signed in with my own Apple ID I am able to receive messages but all calls to my number go to my dads new phone even though it is a different number

iPhone XR, iOS 13

Sounds like Call Forwarding is still activated. You might not have reset the phone to factory condition before setting it up as yours. Please follow the instructions below.

Thank you but it still does not seem to work all calls to my phone are going to his phone and call forwarding is off

The call forwarding might be set at the cellular service provider (ie, before the call is even sent to your phone). Log into your cellular web account and check settings there.
