Turning off Public Safety Alerts

Can I turn off the sound of the Public Safety Alerts, while keep getting the notification?

iPhone 6s, iOS 12

emergency/government/presidential alerts sound can it be changed? Is there a way to change the sound of the emergency/government/presidential alert? (IPhone 6s) I know how to turn the notification off. I think Apple has went a bit overboard with their choice of alert sound. Can produce panic in situations where attention is needed like new driver in heavy traffic situations (especially if it's the first time when you hear that horrible sound and you don't know what is going on). To be honest I thought Apple solutions were smarter than this ... but I can be wrong.

Can’t Turn Off The Sound of Emergency Alerts Hello. I want emergency alerts to be delivered quietly. Sound is too loud. I searched the internet and there should be an option for it at the bottom of notification page but I don’t see anything? Could you please help me with that? Thank you.

How to change emergency alert tone The emergency alerts are something I'd rather not disable, but they are grossly overused, and I simply can't have a siren blaring every time there's a missing kid within 200 miles or a mild rain storm the next county over.

Sadly no. Public safety alerts are designed to alert you in the case of an emergency so that you know what to do. As such, Public Alerts notifications are always going to play a sound, as they are registered as Emergency Notifications, not just notifications. If you don't want to get them, navigate to Settings > Notifications > Public Safety Alerts.
