why two HDs on my mbp15 2016
Anyone know why when I go to wipe my mbp prior to selling it, I see two HDs? How can I amalgamate them both? Why was it ever set up like ethos in the first place anyway

From your Disk Utility>View>Show All Devices> see your parent Drive
it is the Device level you are erasing /reformatting not the Container level or child Volume level.
