Ruler not working on apple pen on a pdf

Hi, I am having an issue with using the ruler function of the apple pen on a .pdf file saved in my files. When I enable and position the ruler as always, the 'ink' does behaved as if the ruler is off. I've used ruler before and I don't know what's causing the issue.

Apple Pencil paperlike tips I am considering the silicon tips for my apple pencil 2. The slickness of the screen makes clear handwriting difficult. Will the aftermarket paperlike tips cause any problems? Does Apple have a similar product?

Notes not printing out all the pages while using my MacAir I love writing on my mini, but when I try to print out from my MacAir it won’t allow me to print out all 3 pages. Am I doing something wrong? I believe this has been a problem for some time, now I remember why I bought the writing apps (although I love the apple pens). At the very least, I am hoping to bring awareness. Since I am at it, it would be also nice to convert the multiple pages to multiple page pdf instead of making one long pdf. Thanks! (mini6) (MacAir)

Try updating to iPadOS 13.5.1 to see if it resolves your problem.

Settings > General > Software Update
