new iphone or refurbished?

hello everyone... i own an amazing iphone XR .

but friend of mind showd me some information about how to tell if my iphone is new or refurbished by the first letter of the model.

if it starts with M its brand new

if it starts with N its a replacment

if it starts with F its refurbished

mind starts with N ...what does it mean replacmet iphone? not new? renew?

by the way i am from israel my model is a1984.

and whem i checked coverage is showed valid.

N usually means it's a refurbishment iPhone too, so a perfect example is there was an issue with the first iPhone XR and it was then replaced by Apple with another iPhone XR which usually would be refurbishment (not a brand new device)

The letter “N” identifies if for exactly what it is: a replacement device. It could be new, it could be a refurbished unit. At some point the device has been issued as a replacement by Apple.
