Outdated firmware from Catalina 10.15.5 updates - Apple Bluetooth Software: 7.0.5f6 Bluetooth Firmware Version: v5 c4096

The recent updates from Catalina 10.15.5 broke the Bluetooth connectivity. It appeared to be 10.15.5 pulled in an outdated Bluetooth firmware version "v5 c4096".


Anyone knows how to have it updated to the proper version (v169 c4825)? I recorded the following -



From Mojave to Catalina 15.5.x (where x<=4), Bluetooth did not work, the system report shown -

Apple Bluetooth Software: 7.0.4f6 Bluetooth Firmware Version: v5 c4096


Somehow, one day, Bluetooth started to work automagically, the system reports shown -

Apple Bluetooth Software: 7.0.4f6 Bluetooth Firmware Version: v169 c4825


From Catalina 15.5.4 to 15.5.5, Bluetooth did not work, the system report shown -

Apple Bluetooth Software: 7.0.5f6 Bluetooth Firmware Version: v5 c4096

This morning, 2009 Wireless Keyboard not connecting, not even seen.


This topic won't easily be found. Had to set several filters and search specifically to find it. Will call Apple later, but please post back any resolution. Will also post here.
