Just got off the phone with support. They are aware of the situation and recommend people try to log in later. It also impacts password resets and other aspects of iCloud, so some services are going to be down. It sounds like they have been getting a ton of phone calls on this already.

And I just switched back to Apple a few days ago after having an extremely frustrating year with android... No regrets.

Thanks to cuddlesorrow, I tried updating my phone as well. I was so frustrated. I changed my password a million times.

I literally just started updating my phone and I was able to sign onto icloud.com when I wasn't able to before

iphone still updating. able to log onto icloud on my macbook (was getting the same message on my macbook preferences)

able to sign onto imessage on macbook, but imessage not connected to my cell #. iphone almost done updating .just needs to restart.

IPHONE HAS FINISHED UPDATING. NO MORE ISSUES WITH THIS PROBLEM!!!! apple needs to get their **** together

I was having this problem as well,

After several restarts and a software update this is the remedy I used that worked for me:

  • Go to settings and click on your apple Id
  • Click on Password & Security
  • Click on "Apps Using Your Apple ID" there it will give you a list of apps that you signed in or registered for using your Apple ID. (mine was short and only had two since I use other emails for my apps)
  • Next, delete any apps on that page that may be using your Apple ID for sign in but are not currently downloaded. For example, I used Apple ID to make a Tik Tok account but deleted Tik Tok to focus on school. I clicked on Tik Tok on the "Apps using Apple ID" screen and selected: Stop Using Apple ID. It removed it from that screen.
  • Finally sign into Apple ID like you normally would and it should fix this error.

Hope it works for you, as it did for me.

:)

Hey I’m not sure if this will he’ll with other situations with iCloud, but I got a new phone because my other phone was shattered and wouldn’t turn on. I tried to sign in to bring my old data into my new phone and just like you guys, I got the “application does not exist” message.

I have a Mac desktop that has my Apple ID linked to it as well. I’m not sure if this works with another phone or an iPad. I simply plugged my phone into my desktop and went into the settings. They’ll ask you for a six digit code and the desktop will give it to you. Then I typed it into the phone I was trying to activate and it worked. I hope this helped anyone who is trying to set up their new phone.
