Noisy background when recording voice message (iPhone X)

Hi,

Can someone support with the above subject?

When I record a voice message without earphone sets, there is a white noise (like when driving or when inside a tunnel) in the background although I am in a quite location. I have restarted/rebooted my iPhone and the noise is still there.

I tried recording with the earphone set and there are no white noise. I also tried recording with the voice memo, and there was no issue there neither.

Appreciate if someone can support!

The Apple Support article, If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working, addresses some common mic issues, but I would like to ask a couple of questions to make sure to get at the heart of the matter.

Is this occurring when leaving a voicemail? Does this happen when you are leaving a voice message in an app like Messages? Do you hear this in a third-party app like Facebook Messages or Skype?

The more information you can provide, the better I'll be able to address your issue.

Has this always been the case when leaving a message, or were you able to leave a clear message in the past?

Does this continue to occur if you Restart your iPhone? This straightforward troubleshooting step is quick and often resolves any number of issues.

Is the iPhone backed up and up-to-date?

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I want to avoid signing out of Messages and back in as a troubleshooting step, but that may be what we look at next.

Is this occurring when leaving a voicemail? YES.

Does this happen when you are leaving a voice message in an app like Messages? YES, WHEN LEAVING A VOICE MESSAGE IN IMESSAGE.

Do you hear this in a third-party app like Facebook Messages or Skype? NO. SOUND IS CLEAR WHEN I LEAVE A VOICE MESSAGE IN WHATSAPP OR INSTASTORIES.

“or were you able to leave a clear message in the past?” I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE A CLEAR VOICE MESSAGE WITHOUT A CONNECTED MICROPHONE IN THE PAST.

“Does this continue to occur if you Restart your iPhone?“ YES. DONE IT A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT NO SUCCESS.

“Is the iPhone backed up and up-to-date?” YES, BACKED UP AND UP-TO-DATE VERSION.

NOTE THAT WHEN I USE A HEADPHONE WITH MICROPHONE, THE SOUND IS CLEAR. BUT AS SOON AS I RECORD A VOICE MESSAGE WITHOUT A MICROPHONE, PROBLEM PERSISTS.
