Filter unknown senders not working

I get several messages a day that are junk from numbers not in my contact list. I have always had the filter for unknown senders turned on. What else can be done? I am updated to the latest 13.5.1.

That only applies to iMessages, not SMS or MMS messages.

Contact your cellular carrier. They may have filtering options available, or you can block the individual numbers that are messaging you.
