Filter unknown senders not working

I get several messages a day that are junk from numbers not in my contact list. I have always had the filter for unknown senders turned on. What else can be done? I am updated to the latest 13.5.1.

That only applies to iMessages, not SMS or MMS messages.

Contact your cellular carrier. They may have filtering options available, or you can block the individual numbers that are messaging you.

Check that option again, disable it (if enabled), restart your iPhone, then re-enable it.

Sometimes new updates can affect some settings.

That feature does NOT stop callers from leaving voice mail for you. It only prevents your phone from ringing when someone who is not in your contacts calls you.
