MacBook Pro not working with Airpod mic

Hi my microphone when using my airpods with my computer distorts my voice. while without airpods mic works fine on Macbook. Thought it was the Aipod's mic but it works fine with my ipad and iphone.

I would like to use my airpods for facetime and zoom calls with my computer so was wondering why the mic has an issue. I have reset the airpods after deleting them but it made no difference. please advise. I use A2032 2nd Generation airpod.

I understand from your post that the mic is not working on your AirPods with your MacBook. In a situation like this you. may want to set the mic to only use the Right AirPod. This article has information on how to change which AirPod the mic is set to:

As suggested i changed airpod mic to be right only however this did not resolve the issuse. my voice comes our crackled and robotic to only while using Airpods on my MacBook Pro and not on my ioad not phone????? please advise
