Wrong iOS?

Hello,

I have an iPhone 7 and it has suddenly died RIP. It kept showing the Apple logo like it was turning on, but would restart before it asked for my passcode and the apple logo would appear again and again.

I connected to my mac in recovery mode and a message appeared saying it had a problem and I should try updating it. If the problem persisted, I would have to restore it.

That's what I did. First update, didn't work, then restoring it. Didn't work either. Same thing is happening: Apple logo, then restart and repeat.

I have noticed that in the system information about the iOS installers it shows a installer for iOS 8, more specifically iOS 13.5.1 für iPhone 8 (Modell A1863, A1905, A1906, A1907). I find it weird since my iPhone is the 7

Could it be that the wrong iOS was installed and that is the reason it is not turning on?

Thanks for the help,

B.

Hi! Stuck at the Apple Logo?

Apple has made an article about it:

I hope it was helpful!

Best Regards

Never had an iPhone 8. Nor has anyone in my family.

If I go to about this mac > storage > manage, there is a section iOS files (iOS-Dateien in German, not sure how it is in english), where the backup files and their sizes are displayed, along with other files downloaded for iOS devices.

There, I can see the name of the file it was installed on my iPhone: "iOS 13.5.1 für iPhone 8 (Modell A1863, A1905, A1906, A1907)". And it also says the date it was downloaded and it was exactly the date I restored it. No iPhone 7 installer.
