Exporting Photos

Make sure that you are following the correct steps for this when using macOS Catalina:

If you are following these steps correctly, isolating a little more might help determine what's causing the issue.

• Are you able to export photos directly to the Macintosh HD?
• If you can, are you able to drag the photo(s) from the Mac to the external drive?
• What type of external drive are you using, and how is it formatted? You can see how it's formatted by selecting the external drive, and then going to the File Menu > Get Info.

It sounds like everything is correct. Since you see this export error only when exporting to the external drive, are you able to test with a different drive, or even with a USB flash drive?

That will help isolate the issue a little more.
