Iphone 6s wont update to ios 13 and now phone wont turn on

After downloading the latest firmware, I tried to update iPhone 6s to new ios 13 it got about a third of the way and message comes up in iTunes saying The iPhone could not be updated an unknown error occurred (14)

Now when i try to turn the phone on, the apple logo appears for only a second and then screen goes blank. I have tried reset etc and apple support said id have to restore the phone but this is obviously not good as i will loose so much data on the phone.

Just a note, as it was downloading update a message came up i think on phone saying "apps would be temporarily removed to make space for download and apps would be reinstalled" not sure if this helps my question.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand your iPhone will not turn on after an update. I’ll be happy to help with this.

It sounds like Apple Support may be correct. If doing a force restart does not help at all, you’ll want to place your iPhone in recovery mode and restore it through your computer. Take a look at this link for more details:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen

Once you do this, you can add your iCloud and other accounts back to sync over any data, like photos, contacts, notes, and more. You can also look into restoring from a backup as well:

thanks Jeremy

we took it to Apple and they restored the phone as they could

not update it.

so the phone was wiped with all info.

unfortunately we don’t have iCloud but thank god when I plugged the phone into iTunes to do the update, it actually backed up the pho e first.

so we were able

to retrieve all data etc.
