UPDATE iOS fail

My iPhone 11 pro max is frozen on the apple logo, i tried to update the software using iTunes. I keep getting an error (14) and it states I cannot update. The phone just shows the logo with the progress bar but it stops quarter of the way. I just want to update and get my pictures of my baby back. I'm hoping i can do this first without wiping everything, particularly my pictures.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
