I have two HomePods that are in stereo mode already on the left and right of my room (in the back). I want to add two more to the left and right (front) of my room. I assume that those will be in stereo mode as well. I know it will not be a true surround sound experience, but can I pull it off with no delay and all of them playing the same thing?
It should be possible. AirPlay is supposed to be able to play to multiple speakers (or sets) and have them all in sync.
