Does OSX Catalina (10.15.4) facilitate podcast downloads to ipod nano?

I think I found my answer online: I can download podcasts from Apple Podcasts to an Ipod Nano but not within the Podcasts app -- only via a primitive Finder interface. (Missing the now-deceased Itunes.). Thanks.
