iOS 13.5.1 battery drain

The battery drain from background activity in iOS 13.5.1 is horrible. Happens on several apps, currently Bloom berg and Teamsnap. Same problem on my iPad and my wife's iPhone Xs. Come on Apple, this needs to be fix now!

in that case it is apps that have not been modified to run on the new OS and have runaway background usage, Viber fir example.

or a busted phone.

Nothing in 13.5.1 itself is causing this.

So to test this ( yes effort required)

  • backup
  • restore to factory settings as though you were selling it - see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201351
  • Set it up with your apple account
  • Check battery usage in that vanilla environment.
  • Restore from backup.

Something strange now. Probably normal, but I like to know the reason...

When my Xs Max isn't on the charger at night, he almost doesn't consume energy. During the day, no matter I stay at home or I'm at work (at work means driving around connected to the bluetooth handsfree. +/- 8 customers a day, +/- 30 min at their home), the battery drains faster. See the attachment...

What's the difference between night and day in iOS 13.6?

Sunday my iPhone was laying on my desk the whole day and it had the same "battery drain" as today; I didn't touch the phone and it had no blue bars what tells there're apps running.

So UPDATE:

After 10 days at apple service this is what they came up with..the 1y1month old Iphone 8 is so demaged they would have to exchange the whole matric plate (or whatever it's called) so they just offered me to buy again my old phone new with reduced price (seriously)!!!!! Like I would buy my old phone again - I have Iphone 6 that still works..Iphone shouldn't die like this after a year in use.

So I didn't wanna just buy new phone and give them again 600-800€ so I called up service center that specializes in apple repairs and they will repair my phone in one or two days for 110€. Problem fixed.

Just wana say apple service is overpriced and really not worth the money they charge..oh yeah had to pay 14,90€ for their 10 days assesmant that they can only sell me my old phone with reduced price LOL Thank you for nothing apple

Wow! Peter, that was a really helpful comment! Thank you for the recommendation. You are a top notch, really informative participant in this discussion. With help like yours, it’s a wonder you are not in charge of Apple Support and service.

I think I’ll check out those Samsung’s! And I thought this discussion board was for helpful Apple suggestions. Your repeat of “wipe your phone clean and get a new battery”, along with saying people really do not have the problems them have or that they are nonsense seems to be not in keeping with the board rules of operation. But thank you for pointing out that Samsung May be a good choice. That IS HELPFUL!
