Screen Time incorrect Device Name

Hi all,

Two questions really.

  1. How do I remove my Apple Watch from the Screen Time Devices list? I have turned off ‘Share Across Devices’ as many posts suggested. Failing that;
  2. I have recently renamed my iPhone and Apple Watch from Nathanial’s to Nat’s. The iPhone name has updated correctly in the device list (see screenshot) however the Apple Watch name remains the old one. What is the name in the Device List linked to?

Kind regards,

Nat

Hey there NTBaker,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having issues renaming and turning off Screen Time for your Apple Watch. I’ll be happy to help with this.

It sounds like you’re taking the right steps to stop sharing Screen Time limits for your Apple Watch. If this and renaming your watch isn’t working, make sure it is up to date and then restart:

Update your Apple Watch

How to restart your Apple Watch

Do the same for your companion iPhone as well:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restart your iPhone

After this, go to Settings > Screen Time on your iPhone and disable Share Across Devices once more. Then follow the steps in this link to change the name of your Apple Watch:

Change the name of your Apple Watch

I hope this helps.

Take care.
