I copied a photo library from one iMac to the desk top of another iMac but now I can't bin the one on the desk top because when I do the one in the pictures folder also goes into the bin, what am I doing wrong?
System on the one I am trying to update. Mac is 10.15.5

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having issues moving one of your Photos libraries to the trash bin on your Mac. I’ll be happy to help with this.
If you haven’t already, open the Photos library you want to keep in Photos and if you use iCloud Photos, designate it as the System Photo Library. Take a look at this article for help with this:
Designate a System Photo Library in Photos
Then try moving the photos library you want to the trash. Make sure both libraries are not selected when you do this. Take a look at the steps under “Delete original library to save space” for more info on this:

If you still have issues, boot your Mac into safe mode and try deleting the library from there:

I think because its been a while since using photos I think that all is well because I took three photos with my iPad and plugged it into the mac and they loaded no problem, they were in the import section.

I am using OS 10.13.6 and not on icloud. I have managed to use a Library on an external hard drive but when I connect my iPad
in photos under my iPad it says no photos. Under photos in the Library all my photos are there also in albums all photos are also there.
l just took two photos with the iPad but they have not come in import, but the iPad is showing.
Any ideas?
