Change notification sounds

I want to change the sounds of different notifications. For example, I have a water leak detector & security camera in my home accessible through WIFI. I would like to have this high priority home security / protection features to ALERT me if something is happening, such as an intruder in my yard/home or a potentially damaging water leak. Currently, the iPhone technology does not allow (or at least that I am aware of) the user to change the sound of a notification to signal the varying degree of importance. If there is a way, can someone please help? If not, can Apple please update software? Thanks.

I contacted two app developers regarding this issue & asked if they could update their app. This is the response from one app developer:

“I understand that you wanted us to add a way to change the alert sound to a different on the next update. Please know that we have the desire to apply that on the blink system just like android but Apple is very strict on the implementation as they somehow did not agree. I would say that it's with the plan but we are not certain as to when it can be applied.”

Looking through various websites regarding changing notification sounds, not an issue with android platforms. Apple has not caught up with this.

You can't. The App developer would have to code that into their app. My point was that the app developer, IMHO, offered you a cop out response. If Facebook and other apps can have their own unique notification sound, they programmed that into the app. Thus saying Apple won't permit that is hooey.
