iPhone X compass Calibration

My compass on my iPhone X will not calibrate. I have tried the “compass calibration” and other calibrations in the system services and location services but it will not calibrate. Though, my Apple Watch shows the correct direction and they are linked which is curious. Any help would be appreciated!
