My iPad is not recognized by iTunes when I plug it into my Macbook
When I plug my iPad into my MacBook and open iTunes to connect the two, I can hear it trying to connect, but the iPad icon never shows up.

You are going to want to have the most recent version of OS X installed on your Mac so you an have the most recent version of iTunes installed on it. An older version may not be compatible with the version of iOS that you have installed on your iPad.

My version is Mojave 10.14.6. I refused to upgrade to Catalina because I'd then have to spend a fortune updating my Office 365; however, all other updates have been done regularly. Is that the problem? Thanks.
