iOS Safari freezes when I type something specific in address bar

Over the past week or so, I’ve noticed that Safari freezes on my iPhone whenever I type the letters “sa” into the address bar. I’ve cleared my cache, I’ve turned the phone off and on, but it’s still doing it. If I type letters before “sa” it will let me type the “sa” but if I then delete all of the other letters, it freezes the moment it’s back to being just “sa”. Any idea what could be causing it?

I just had the same exact problem. I thought my safari kept freezing, until I noticed it was literally just when I (started) typing “SA” in the URL bar... any other combination or typing it after other letters was fine, just starting with “SA” made it freeze up. (Side Note: I was originally trying to search “Sagacious definition” lol)

Switching search engines did not work for me. The problem seems to be Safari-based and not search engine linked. The search bar and the entire Safari app freezes, that is I cannot even open another search window, when I start a search with the letter <s>. My only help is re-booting the phone. I have an iPhone 11 and am using iOS 14.2.

II am using an iPad 4mini and a iPhone X. Safari freezes whenever I go too a website And either I try and put in a password for that website or I want to change my password for the particular website. So what I’m explaining is that when i try to put my password the password box for the website it has frozen so you can’t type anything or the keyboard doesn’t come up. I have tried disconnecting my Internet from both devices and it doesn’t work when you put it back on. Plus I have deleted the cetch for safari and that doesn’t seem to work. One thing I’d like to say is that I have a couple of apps for spam on my iPhone.

I have chrome installed on my phone and when I use it everything works perfectly fine it’s just the Safari.

Except clearing history isn’t the “solution/fix”, it’s a workaround. It does not address what the actual issue is. I want to know what the cause of this error is, and what Apple is doing to prevent it from happening. If we keep using workarounds instead of bringing errors to the attention of companies and demanding they look into it, nothing will ever get fixed.
