iTunes keeps asking to verify payment information

I am using 9.2.1 (although this problem started with iTunes 9.2 sometime) and iTunes keeps asking me to verify my payment information whether I am using my iPhone, iPad or my iMac. I verify and the transaction goes ahead. It does not matter whether it is a free update for an App on my iPad or iPhone or purchasing music or a TV Show on my iMac. The error message is that a transaction has taken place on a new device or computer and that it needs to verify my payment information.

The verification lists my card data and address etc. correctly but I need to keep entering the card security number.

Support keep telling me to delete and re-enter my car info which does not help. Anyone else seen this issue?

Seems to be something to do with a new security check they have put in the system that does not work correctly and support is totally incapable of helping me out.

This is happening with me and I haven't had any luck with the drones in customer support, friggin tights have more support.

Problem is every time it does it it debits £1.58 on my card... that sits in limbo for TWO WEEKS!

I haven't done anything on my pc to warrant this happening THREE TIMES IN ONE MONTH [space of a month]

I don't have the billions that Apple does, I don't drink don't smoke my gadgets are all I have, You might think aw man it's only £1.58 but I have other money issues so that £1.58 could bounce another transaction and snowball into a lot more money! so I cannot afford it.

All I did get was company line and asked to stop swearing..... that parts temporary!

It's a joke, for a comapny who call their emplyees GENUISES all I see is morons.

I hate android but I don't hate Windows or Noia so I guess bye bye iPad/iPhone hello surface/Lumia.

I had the same problem and it ended up being an issue with the Bank. There were several places where the address had to be updated to match my new address/zip code. It took several calls to the Bank and ended up speaking to several different people at the Bank. It was not Apple - there wasn't anything they could do. It's very frustrating.

OKay guys, I started this thread and have opted this before, maybe iy no,longer works, but here it goes. You need to go into your account and change something. I changed no salutation to " mr." I have also heard of people changing a name, Like Dave to David. You need to change something in your info, I don't know if address info will work, like country. Yes, this is a problem with iTunes and App Store, yes it is a bug, yes it should be fixed. I get the feeling it is isolated and infrequent, as I fixed it once and it stayed fixed...knock on wood. Good luck.

I had same issue, try going to the settings on your iPad, then to iCloud (not iTunes) go to (iCloud) account and enter the exact same credit card and billing info you have in your iTunes account, this worked for me (you dont have to purchase any additional 'storage' from iCloud, just have your billing info entered). This also fixes the same message from Apple TV when/if you are trying to rent a movie, etc.

Just wanted to confirm and advise of the process to use Apple Gift card on Apple TV.

1. Add gift card to Itunes account (the balance will show up at the top of the itunes home page)

2. Order the movie you want on Apple TV (Apple TV may require you to enter the last 3 digits of your credit card on file)

3. The price of your purchase on the Apple TV will be deducted from the balance automatically on Itunes.

It is that simple.

No need to get a Roku..........
