iTunes keeps asking to verify payment information

I am using 9.2.1 (although this problem started with iTunes 9.2 sometime) and iTunes keeps asking me to verify my payment information whether I am using my iPhone, iPad or my iMac. I verify and the transaction goes ahead. It does not matter whether it is a free update for an App on my iPad or iPhone or purchasing music or a TV Show on my iMac. The error message is that a transaction has taken place on a new device or computer and that it needs to verify my payment information.

The verification lists my card data and address etc. correctly but I need to keep entering the card security number.

Support keep telling me to delete and re-enter my car info which does not help. Anyone else seen this issue?

Seems to be something to do with a new security check they have put in the system that does not work correctly and support is totally incapable of helping me out.

I found it confusing when my Apple TV ask me to use the iTunes store on my PC to verify may payment method. I had to log into the iTunes store with a web browser, then figure out you use Account Settings - Manage Express Checkout Settings and not use Payments & Financing which is where you might think to look to verify payment method. More confusion caused by poor design. Seems to get worse all the time. Too bad Jobs isn't around to yell at someone anymore.

Please will some one help me!?

Pre-ordered on iTunes, got the email to say it was ready to download but again wouldn't let me as it said I needed to verify my billing details. Have done this many times.

Have even tried deleting payment details, logging out, restarting and re-entering details then logging out and back in again. I am then prompted with the option to download but when I do this it goes straight back round to verify billing details again! I have even purchased another song with my new billing details and its STILL not working for the bloody pre-order!

I feel like I have tried everything, please help!!!

Right, I solved my problem ^

Just signed out of itunes on all of my devices, then used my iphone 5s to find the song I had pre-ordered on itunes and download from there, it asked mem to log into my apple ID, I did this and it downloaded straight away and also did an automatic download onto my main iTunes library on my MacBook pro!

Hope this helps someone else 🙂

I just encountered the same problem with Apple TV. Tried to change my payment details in iTunes on my computer, also in the actual Apple Store - nothing seemed to work. Then I saw that an Apple TV update was available. After downloading and installing, it asked me for my security code as I was choosing a movie - and now it seems to work.

thomas, i try to use your procedure in order to verify, i would say, modify my payment info. my problem is, that I have to spend all my money which comes from an Itunes card of 15 euros. Unhappily enough I have 10 centimes credit on it. I am not allowed to change France to Hungary in my billing andress until I have not get rid of the 10 centimes left? Any idea, how to solve this incerible problem?

MusicLoverAddict,

They do, I'm looking at mine right now.

I signed into iTunes, I clicked on Accounts; then I selected Puchase History and there are 31 pages of my purchases in full detail from May 5th, 2014 to all the way back to 2005.

Sorry for your problems, however, I don't understand why you cannot access your purchase history. Then again I'm in the USA.

Maybe outside of the USA is problematic?

Regards,

mm~
