I am using 9.2.1 (although this problem started with iTunes 9.2 sometime) and iTunes keeps asking me to verify my payment information whether I am using my iPhone, iPad or my iMac. I verify and the transaction goes ahead. It does not matter whether it is a free update for an App on my iPad or iPhone or purchasing music or a TV Show on my iMac. The error message is that a transaction has taken place on a new device or computer and that it needs to verify my payment information.
The verification lists my card data and address etc. correctly but I need to keep entering the card security number.
Support keep telling me to delete and re-enter my car info which does not help. Anyone else seen this issue?
Seems to be something to do with a new security check they have put in the system that does not work correctly and support is totally incapable of helping me out.

I have no idea either! Its really starting to get annoying. I dont use credit cards or anything like that. So now i dont get to download free apps, because i cant 'verify my payment'?
I think this is happening around the world that has VISA. I checked my bank to verify my billing address and they said "Im not the only one that ask that question today. We are trying to fix it." So, I don't think it's Apple, I can't even buy stuff from Ebay. IDK I guess.
Ive had my new ipod for 2 days now and at first everything was goin fine. but as of about an hour ago when i tried to download a free app it keeps telling me to enter my billing information. when i do that, it tells me over an over that the security code is invalid which i know is right cause im lookin right at it. so now i can download anything an i have no clue who to talk to. my husband also has the same one and theres nothing wrong with his. does anybody know whats goin on?
Had the same issue. I only wanted to use prepaid iTunes cards. When it asked to verify I changed my info, (changed my title). Then I changed it back and saved. This forced Apples site to see there is updated info and commit the change. Working fine now.
my ipod wouldn't let me purchase a 99 cent song. i tried countless times to buy it, but it kept asking me to verify it and confirm it. frustrated, i tried entering the payment info on my computer and it magically made it work for my ipod. hope that helps you in any way?
having the same problem like when i try to download stuff that i purchased on my ipod touch and this stupid thing keeps popping up and when i try to download something free it still shows up and also my other ipod touch was stolen last month and there are apps that i did not purchase and really think my account was compromised and there was a credit card set up saying visa and i used a mastercard gift card but still dont know what caused this ****😠😕
