Transfer AppleCare+ Monthly to new owner?

Hi,

I like to rotate devices within our family (youngest kid gets the oldest device..) and I'd like to know if this approach is compatible with Monthly AppleCare+ plans. The devices stay within our (Apple) Family but technically they change their AppleID/owner. Can Monthly AC+ be transferred over to a new person? The device in question is iPad.

I read the Terms and Conditions and transfers are mentioned only for the one-time AC+ purchase.

it says if you make monthly payments it cannot be transferred

Transfer your AppleCare plan - Apple Support

Now since you are the same family that may fall into a loophole but I don’t know for sure. You could call apple themselves and ask them

Hi,

thank you for your help. I called The AC 800 number and the rep said it’s possible to transfer the monthly plan and sent me a doc that details that in fact it cannot be transferred. Sigh.

I think I’m not gonna take that chance for now and limit my AC to the 2 year period to stay safe.

It would be great if somebody who tried that chime in. I’m curious if there’s something that explicitly tells you that there’s AC plan with the device upon iCloud Sign out/sign in.
