whenever i attach earbuds or airpods to my phone, no noise comes out when i play music. i can faintly hear stuff with earbuds, but with airpods i can’t hear anything. with airpods, i can hear people on facetime etc. but nothing else.

How to clean your AirPods and EarPods
If no help, try this:
1) Open the Control Center
2) 3D press (or long press) on the music controls
3) Select the output option (little up-arrow with circles)
4) Select headphones (or AirPods)
