us02web.zoom.us Zoom Site Error Popup Message Reads: “Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid.”

Zoom Error Message is Popping Up:

Error Reads:

Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid.

The URL:

Zoom Error:

So, why am I getting this error about the address being invalid? Seems to me to be a glitch. Is that so? Why the error?

The URL:
us02web.zoom.us

That URL loads perfectly fine if I type in in Safari, iOS and macOS alike. See the screenshot below.

The URL (even though it's incomplete) opens just fine on this Mac.

So, why am I getting this error about the address being invalid?

Good question. Safari performs some cursory parsing of a typed URL, such as prefixing it with http:// or https:// and so does any ISP, but perhaps the Zoom webpage is providing Safari a malformed URL to begin with.

Try tapping and holding the link in its iOS app, which brings up a contextual menu with Copy as one of its choices. Nothing else, just Copy along with an icon resembling an overlapping sheet of paper. Paste that allegedly valid URL into a reply here, or anywhere else for that matter, so that you can read it before Safari attempts to parse it into something it can use. Determining exactly what it is will be instructive.

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities, TheLittles!

From my understanding, you’re unable to open a Zoom meeting as you get an error that the address is invalid. I’d be happy to take a look at this with you.

After reviewing some information on Zoom’s website, it looks like mobile web browsers are not supported. In this case, it’s recommended that you download the Zoom app or join via teleconferencing/audio conferencing. More information regarding how to join a meeting and available options can be found in the following links.

You can read more about using the web client at: Zoom web client – Zoom Help Center

If you have additional questions or concerns, I’d suggest reaching out to Zoom for assistance at: Contact Us - Zoom

Have a great day!

Thank you kindly for the reply. I have an honorable meeting coming up. And my goal of my OP is to get preparation-type feedback for this.

I have some role playing tomorrow, my time, during which I will try all of this out.

I used the Zoom app on my iPhone for no more than a code (and it is something that I get errors on).

Coming up, plan to try a PC too; not just my Mac. I will get back to you after the troubleshooting takes place.

My OP is all about preparation for what is to come up - and my view as a participant need to be to be clear-and-crisp. So, thank for the reply.

Expect a reply tomorrow with updates.

You are certainly more ‘adventurous’ than I - given the hacks and serious security issues this app has had, I would NEVER install anything from that company on any of my devices - ever. Good luck!!!

Blame my employer. Not me! - But here’s the catch - I’ll back up the Mac, then install all the junk. Once it’s over with, it’s restored from the TMB. But no worries - I don’t format all that often.

I can't answer that because I do not know. Hopefully you will get some good feedback. i do not use VM because I do not use Windows and don't need it for anything else. And, I do not use a VPN.”

Thank you for your assistance babowa.

We’ll see what others say - those who’ve tried it and can confirm if they’e any safer.
