Black Screen of Death :( MacBook Pro

I am another recipient of the black screen of death.

The most confusing part is I depleted the battery to test if it would give me that dead battery image on screen and guess what... it did! That to me at least shows that the screen is working and nothing is wrong with whatever attaches the screen to the base.

I've tried all of these solutions on the following link with no success.

Unfortunately our local Apple store is still closed because of COVID.

If you need any other info from me... please feel free to ask :)

Any other ideas to solve this would be appreciated!

Thanks and stay safe!

I would start with booting into safe mode to make sure all the hardware on your MacBook Pro is okay. To do this simply shut down the laptop and boot the Mac up again. When it starts, hold down the shift key and release it when you see the login prompt. If you did it successfully you should see "Safe Boot" in the top right corner. If you can get it to boot try to update to the latest version of MacOS and see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise there is a hardware issue and you should get the MacBook Pro seen by a repair shop or go to your Apple Store when it opens again.
