temporarily turn off or pause iCloud on PC

Is there a way to stop or pause iCloud on a PC that doesn't involve deleting every iCloud file?

I've read several recommendations that instruct to the user Logout of iCloud. However, doing so is met with a warning that all the iCloud files will be deleted from the PC.

I just want to free up bandwidth occasionally. I promise I'll come right back and allow iCloud to continue using a constant chunk of resources for a single set of functions that is rarely necessary on a day to day basis.

Windows, Windows 10

Of course I've tried that.

Yes, it works but it's utterly unreasonable to expect a PC user to go through such lengths.

Have you tried adding a "Pause" feature like every other cloud service on the market?

If this is your best answer, I suppose I'll simply uninstall iCloud and move on.

Hi The Original Cubelodyte,

Thanks for your post! I understand you would like to temporarily pause iCloud on your PC. Have you tried disabling a single service? Signing out completely will result in the action you described in your post.

Set up and use iCloud for Windows
