Audio Autoplay

Hi, I have recently downloaded an emulator for my old gameboy, which doesn't work anymore since it's ancient, however, the sound is not working, according to some research I did, it's because something called Audio Autoplay is NOT enabled on IOS's Safari. I can't seem to find how to do that though and I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible. Please, if it is, let me know.. in times like this where I lost my job and am afraid to leave the house for over 2 months now it would be nice to indulge into some nostalgia with my favorite games growing up. Thank you!

Hello aleksandra53.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. If I'm understanding correctly, you would like to know id Safari has an Audio Auto-Play setting. I will be glad to assist. Though there is not an Audio Auto-Play option, perhaps the setting below might help from this resource:

Change Websites preferences in Safari on Mac

Safari > Preferences, then click Websites.

The settings you can customize (such as Reader and Content Blockers) are listed on the left.

To apply a setting to a website on the right, first select the setting, then choose the option you want from the pop-menu next to the website.

Auto-Play

  • Allow All Auto-Play: All videos on the site can autoplay.
  • Stop Media with Sound: Only videos that don’t have audio will autoplay.
  • Never Auto-Play: No videos can autoplay.

Cheers.
