FCP X is freezing after every 2 Mins

Hi,

I never thought i will have to write for resolution this early after buying a new laptop.

I have bought A 13 inch Macbook Pro just 3 days ago and following is the configuration,

Os: Catalina 10.15.4

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)

2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5

16 GB 3733 MHz LPDDR4

Intel Iris Plus Graphics 1536 MB

When ever I am using FCP,the rainbow 🌈 wheel keeps coming

The laptop is literally blank have got no heavy application with a free space of 430 GB

I have turned off the background rendering and there is no plugins which is running while editing

Its really frustrating ...Pls help 😒

If you bought this computer for editing return it while you still can. The problem has been widely reported, and there is no solution at this time, or any prognosis for a solution. Until there is the computer should not be purchased for editing.

I know telling this can be a con to this community but I am seeing videos where people are downgrading The os and there is a way

I am literally frustrated as I can’t work hence saying this

If it’s an MBP with integrated graphics it’s liable to have the same problem.

An older computer can be downgraded, which is probably what you have been seeing.

I think my 2017 iMac came with Sierra but I have now got it on Catalina.

However, if I wanted, I could downgrade it toMojave or all the way to Sierra but no lower.

As Tom says, you normally can't install an OS earlier than the one the computer came with.

Hi. I have the same problem with my MBP pro 2020 with 10th gen processor... Do you know if there is the same problem with 1.4 8th gen processor? If I bought this for editing.... maybe its an option to replace it with 1.4 8th gen?
